I loved my son's dinosaur 5th birthday....sigh....how I wish little people came with a pause button! Jordan is a dinosaur obsessed and very active 5 year old so we really wanted to get deep into the dinosaur safari theme with lots of safari activities, tools and props to keep the kids engaged. The safari hats, canteens and binoculars were a great way to get the kids into character. The fan favorite was definitely the binoculars.
Keeping 5 year olds entertained can be tough so we had LOTS to do including 2 activity stations - a dinosaur excavation table and a fishing activity where we filled the "swamp" with toy fish and gave them nets and poles to fish them out. For our main events, we had a dinosaur egg hunt and a trading post station where the kids could exchange dinosaur dollars from the egg hunt for toys. And last but not least, a reptile show with snakes, lizards, big bugs and turtles.
